K. Jurée Capers is an Associate Professor at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University, and a faculty affiliate with the Georgia Policy Labs. Her work focuses on social and racial equity at the intersection of public administration, policy implementation, and race and ethnic politics.
Education:
- PhD in Political Science from Texas A&M University
- Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Political Science from Winthrop University (2008)
Her research combines organizational theories, representation, and bureaucratic politics to analyze factors influencing bureaucrats’ decision-making and implications for historically marginalized populations. Substantive focus includes social policy, particularly education, and disparities in higher education governance and school desegregation.
She has published in journals such as the American Review of Public Administration, International Journal of Public Management, and Urban Review. Her scholarship has received fellowships addressing education policy and racial/ethnic disparities.
