Jürgen Habermas is a renowned philosopher and sociologist, serving as Professor Emeritus at Goethe University Frankfurt and director of the Institute for Social Research. He held significant roles, including Chair at Frankfurt (1983–1993), Director of the Max Planck Institute in Starnberg (1971–1983), and Extraordinary Professor of Philosophy at the University of Heidelberg (1962).
Education: PhD in Philosophy (1954), Privatdozent at Marburg (1961). His work bridges philosophy, social theory, and political thought, focusing on communicative action, public sphere theory, and critical social theory.
Awards include the Hegel Prize (1974), Kyoto Prize (2004), and Erasmus Prize (2013). His research explores reification, legitimation crises, and discourse ethics, shaping debates on democracy, law, and postsecularism.
