Jörg Gundel

Prof. Jörg Gundel is a Professor of Public Law, International, and European Law at the University of Bayreuth since 2004. He serves as Dean (2018-2020) and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law, Programme Moderator of the German-French Bachelor's Programme in Law (Bayreuth/Bordeaux since 2020), and Managing Director of the Research Center for German and European Energy Law (FER) since 2010. His academic leadership roles include positions at Ruhr University Bochum and Frankfurt University.

Education:

• PhD (1996) and Habilitation (2002) in Law from Universities of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Berlin
• Master of Law (1990) after studies at Erlangen-Nuremberg and Aix-Marseille (scholarship holder of German Academic Scholarship Foundation)

Research & Expertise: Specializes in Public Law, European Energy Law, International Law, and Media Law. Oversees the FER research center and contributes to German-French legal education initiatives.

• Past roles include Legal Vice Dean and acting Chair positions at multiple institutions
