Professor JéAnna Abbott holds the Spec's Charitable Foundation Professorship in Social Responsibility at the University of Houston's College of Global Hospitality Leadership. She is an attorney and academic leader specializing in hospitality law, ethics, conflict management, and data science.
- Education: B.A. in Business Administration (Austin College), M.H.M. (University of Houston), M.B.A. in Strategy (University of Chicago), M.S. in Analytics (Texas A&M), J.D. and L.L.M. in International Finance and Economic Law (University of Houston), Ph.D. in Management.
Her research focuses on hospitality law, conflict resolution, social responsibility, and data analytics. She is renowned for reconciling trust violations in the service industry and integrating legal frameworks with hospitality management. Her work bridges legal expertise with practical applications in negotiations and human resources.
Professor Abbott has received significant recognition, including being the first holder of the Spec's Charitable Foundation Professorship and the only academic globally to hold both a CMP designation and L.L.M. in International Law and Economics. She co-authored two foundational textbooks and serves as founding editor of the Journal of Convention and Event Tourism.
