János Pintz

János Pintz is a renowned Hungarian mathematician affiliated with the Alfréd Rényi Mathematical Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 1977, currently holding the rank of Research Professor. He has also held visiting positions at prestigious institutions such as the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton; Rutgers University; and the University of Salerno.

Pintz’s research focuses on prime number theory, distribution of primes, analytic number theory, and long-standing conjectures like the Goldbach conjecture and Twin prime conjecture. His work has significantly advanced understanding of prime gaps, small gaps between primes, and prime tuples.

The 114 publications of Pintz, including groundbreaking papers on prime gaps and tuples, have garnered over 1500 citations and influenced more than 50 books. His articles explore topics such as the Mertens Conjecture disproof, Goldbach conjecture analysis, and small gaps between primes and products of two primes.
