Ján Svoreň is an Associate Professor and senior scientist at the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Tatranská Lomnica, specializing in interplanetary matter, comets, and meteors. With over 280 publications, he has significantly contributed to understanding solar system dynamics and celestial phenomena.
- Education: Studied astronomy and geophysics at Comenius University (1967–1972)
- Leadership: Chairman of the Scientific College of the Slovak Academy of Sciences for Earth and Space Sciences (since 2002)
