Jyoti Nandan is an Honorary Associate Professor in the School of Literature, Languages & Linguistics at The Australian National University (ANU). She holds a PhD from ANU and an MA from UNSW. Her research focuses on women writers of the South Asian diaspora, postcolonial feminist frameworks, and Victorian-period women's writing. Previously, she served as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Language and Literature at the University of Fiji (2006–2013) and taught at the University of the South Pacific.

Her research explores intersections of gender, post-colonialism, and diasporic studies, with a focus on cultural and literary analysis. She actively contributes to academic journals like Indialogs and advises the Centre for the International Study of Literatures in English.
Her publications analyze works by authors like Bharati Mukherjee, addressing themes of identity, migration, and cultural hybridity. She has also written on Australian literature, such as Patrick White’s The Twyborn Affair, focusing on gender fluidity and colonial narratives.
