Justyna Płotka-Wasylka is a Professor and Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Chemistry, Gdańsk University of Technology. She holds a PhD and habilitation in Analytical Chemistry from the same institution. Her academic career includes roles as an assistant professor (2014–2015), associate professor (2015–2019), and professor (since 2019). She serves on committees such as the Polish Academy of Sciences' Analytical Chemistry Committee and advises international bodies like the Slovak Scientific Grants Agency.
Her research focuses on analytical chemistry methodologies, green chemistry, and environmental pollutant analysis. Notable interests include developing eco-friendly extraction techniques (e.g., deep eutectic solvents), microextraction methods, and assessing contaminants in complex matrices like diapers and water. Over 140+ publications and multiple awards highlight her contributions, including the Polish Academy of Sciences Award and Ministerial recognition for young scientists.
Recent work addresses neonatal exposure to pollutants via diapers, PCB quantification, and methodological tools like RAPI and BAGI indices. She leads projects on sustainable diaper management and environmental risk assessment, reflecting her dual focus on scientific innovation and societal impact.
