Justine Hastings is an Affiliate Professor of Economics at the University of Washington and VP & Chief of People-Centered Science at Amazon. Her work bridges academia and policy, focusing on leveraging economics, data science, and machine learning to solve social challenges. She holds a PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley and has held tenured positions at Brown and Yale universities. Key roles include leadership in the Research Improving People’s Lives (RIPL) nonprofit and service on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Academic Research Council.
