Justin Leroux is a Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at HEC Montréal, where he also serves as Director of the B.B.A. Program. He holds a DEA in Mathematical Modeling and Economics from Université de Paris-1 Panthéon Sorbonne and a Ph.D. in Economics from Rice University. His research focuses on distributive justice, cost sharing mechanisms, and climate policy, with notable contributions to environmental economics, climate justice, and public finance. He has published in journals such as PLOS Climate, Economics & Philosophy, and Ecological Economics, and co-authored chapters in volumes addressing climate change, socio-economic transformations, and international relations post-COVID-19. His teaching includes courses on microeconomic decision-making and competition analysis. He supervises master’s theses and projects on topics ranging from climate policy to antibiotic resistance modeling. Affiliated with CIRANO and the CRÉ ethics center, his work bridges theoretical economics with real-world policy challenges.
