Dr. Justin K.H. Tse is an academic researcher affiliated with both the University of Washington in Seattle and Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. His work intersects geography and religious studies, focusing on the dynamic relationship between heritage and sacred spaces in urban contexts.
He has published in prominent journals such as Population, Space, and Place, Progress in Human Geography, and Global Networks, often addressing themes like religious heritage, community-based heritage practices, and the co-construction of sacred sites in modern urbanism.
His project on Richmond’s "Highway to Heaven," funded by Metropolis British Columbia, explores how diverse religious practices shape urban infrastructure and pilgrimage landscapes. This work has been disseminated as a Metropolis working paper and in Social and Cultural Geography.
