Justin Bland serves as Department Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise & Sport Sciences at Harding University, affiliated with the Cannon-Clary College of Education. His academic journey includes a PhD in Kinesiology from Michigan State University (2007–2012), an MSE from Harding University's Cannon-Clary College of Education (2005–2007), and a BS in Kinesiology from Harding University (2000–2005).
His research interests focus on exercise physiology and kinesiology, guided by a mission to train students in scientific inquiry while emphasizing Christian values. His notable work includes studies on pediatric exercise protocols, as seen in his 2012 article in European Journal of Applied Physiology.
He has received the Alpha Chi Faculty Scholar (2019) and the American College of Sports Medicine Masters Level Research Award (2005). Bland teaches 14 courses, including EXSS 5060 (Sport Observation and Evaluation II) and KINS 407 (Exercise Physiology: Theory and Application K-12).
