Justin A. Tolman, PharmD, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Sciences at Creighton University's School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. His research focuses on drug delivery systems, pulmonary and nasal drug administration, and pharmaceutical formulation. He has contributed to advancements in antiepileptic therapies, including studies on vigabatrin for refractory seizures, and pioneered work on inhaled treatments for tuberculosis using clofazimine. Dr. Tolman has been recognized with the Rho Chi Excellence in Teaching Award and has consulted for Genelex Corporation on pharmacokinetic optimization. His laboratory is located in the Hixson Lied Science Building, Room 145.
His academic background includes a PharmD and PhD, with expertise spanning pharmaceutics, biopolymers, and membrane transport mechanisms. Research highlights include development of aerosol dosage forms and evaluation of novel drug delivery technologies for poorly water-soluble drugs. Collaborative projects include an NIH-funded study on tuberculosis treatment through inhaled drug-device combinations.
