Junwook Chi

Junwook Chi is an Associate Professor at the School of Travel Industry Management within the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His expertise lies in transport economics, tourism transportation, and applied economics, with a focus on travel demand modeling, transport policy analysis, and commodity flow analysis.

Dr. Chi earned his Ph.D. in Transportation and Logistics from North Dakota State University and an M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics and Business from the University of Guelph, Canada. Prior to his current role, he served as a transportation economist and program director at institutions like Marshall University and the Nick J. Rahall II Appalachian Transportation Institute.

His research has been published in leading journals such as Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice, Transport Policy, and Journal of Air Transport Management. He is actively involved in professional organizations including the American Economic Association, Transportation Research Board, and National Defense Transportation Association.
