Jung Min Kim serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aarhus University's School of Engineering, specializing in software engineering and computing systems with applications in satellite technology and energy management.
His research integrates software engineering principles with practical systems development, notably through the DISCO student CubeSat project for Arctic climate monitoring and foundational work on electricity load shifting frameworks. This dual focus bridges theoretical computing with real-world environmental and energy challenges.
Kim actively leads the DISCO (Danish Student CubeSat Program) project initiated in November 2020 and revised in December 2023, which provides students with hands-on satellite design experience while advancing climate research methodologies in polar regions.
