Dr. Jun Yuan is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia's School of Biomedical Sciences and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Perron Institute. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Western Australia (2023), following a Master’s in Medicine (Shanghai Jiao Tong University, 2018) and a Bachelor’s in Clinical Medicine (Wuhan University, 2015). His research focuses on the interplay between bone-derived factors and neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s. Key projects include studying sclerostin as a biomarker for dementia and investigating osteocyte roles in bone-brain health. He has secured grants totaling over $136,000 from Perpetual and the Perron Institute. Awards include multiple travel grants and a thesis competition prize. His work aligns with UN SDGs addressing health and well-being.
