Jun Li is a University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Kansas State University (KSU). He specializes in nanoscience and nanotechnology, focusing on nanomaterials synthesis, energy storage systems, and biosensor development. His research involves collaborations with academia, industry, and government labs, particularly in core-shell hybrid materials for lithium-ion batteries and electrochemical sensors.
Education includes a B.S. from Wuhan University (1987) and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Princeton University (1995). Postdoctoral work at Cornell University followed, with prior roles at NASA Ames and the Institute of Materials Research & Engineering in Singapore.
Research interests span nanomaterials growth, device fabrication, and applications in energy and biomedicine. Notable awards include Fellowships from the Royal Society of Chemistry and the National Academy of Inventors. He advises numerous students and leads a lab with advanced instrumentation for nanotechnology research.
