Julieta Camino is a NIHR DEM-COMM Postdoctoral Fellow with ARC East of England and a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at London South Bank University (2022-2024). Previously, she held roles as a Research Associate at the University of East Anglia (UEA) (2016-2021) and leadership positions in occupational therapy in Argentina.
- PhD in Health Science (UEA, 2018-2022): Focused on dementia and daily living task performance.
- BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (National University of Quilmes, Argentina, 1999-2003): Graduated with first-class honors.
Her research centers on understanding how environmental clutter, caregiver management styles, and intrinsic/extrinsic factors influence functional abilities in dementia patients. She aims to develop caregiver upskilling programs to enhance patient participation in daily tasks. Recent work includes cross-country comparisons of dementia rehabilitation services and longitudinal studies on caregiver impact.
Her 10 research outputs (2021-2024) span topics like caregiver interventions, environmental adaptations, and functional decline mechanisms. These have been cited in policy documents, news outlets, and Wikipedia, with significant Mendeley readership.
As a member of the Mental Health and Social Care group at UEA, she collaborates internationally on projects like the NIHR ARC DEM-COMM Extension (2024-2026), funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research, to explore dementia caregiver support programs.
