Juliet Meghan Berling

Juliet Meghan Berling is an Adjunct Lecturer at Binghamton University, affiliated with the Environmental Studies Program, Engineering Design Division (EDD), and Geography department. She teaches EDD 307: Ecology for Engineers for the Sustainability Engineering Minor and works full-time as the director of planning, housing, and community development for the City of Binghamton. Previously, she served as the planning commissioner for the City of Binghamton and director of environmental sustainability and stewardship for the Department of Green Initiatives at Lourdes Memorial Hospital.

Her research and teaching interests span environmental science, sustainability engineering, urban planning, and ecological policy, with a focus on integrating environmental law and community development into engineering practices.

Berling has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Practice GreenHealth Partner Recognition Award, Who’s Who in America Listing, and two Department of Energy honors: the Meritorious Performance Award and the Secretary of Energy Gold Medal Award.
