She serves as Dean of Arts & Social Sciences at City, University of London, following roles as Hildred Carlile Chair of English Literature at Royal Holloway, University of London, and leadership positions including Head of Humanities and Director of Victorian Studies centers. Educated at Selwyn College, Cambridge (BA, Double First) and University College London (PhD), her research spans Dickens, melodrama, popular culture, digital humanities, and heritage studies.
