Dr. Juliet Davidow is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Northeastern University's College of Science, where she leads the Learning and Brain Development Lab. Her research focuses on adolescent cognitive and neural development, particularly how learning behaviors evolve with age and influence memory, decision-making, and goal-oriented actions. She holds a BA from New York University, a PhD from Columbia University, and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard University.
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology, New York University
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology, Columbia University
- Postdoctoral Fellowship, Harvard University
Research interests include adolescent brain development, cognitive neuroscience, computational psychology, and the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying learning processes. Her lab investigates how behavioral and brain changes during adolescence support adaptive goal pursuit and decision-making. Key areas of exploration involve reinforcement learning, value-guided behavior, and the impact of social and environmental contexts on neural development.
Notable achievements include a National Science Foundation CAREER Award (2025) for studying motivated learning in adolescents. Her work has been featured in Nature Reviews Neuroscience, Neuron, and Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience.
Grants and Awards:
- National Science Foundation CAREER Award (2025)
- College of Science Faculty Excellence Recognition (2023)
Labs/Teams: Director of the Learning and Brain Development Lab, which bridges psychology, neuroscience, and computer science to study learning across development.
