Dr. Julien Rossignol is a tenured Professor in the College of Medicine at Central Michigan University, specializing in neurodegenerative diseases. His research focuses on dendrimer-based drug delivery, stem cell therapies, and gene editing for Huntington's, Alzheimer's, stroke, and glioblastoma. He co-directs the Field Neurosciences Institute Laboratory for Restorative Neurology and has secured NIH and AHA funding.
- Ph.D. in Cell Biology, University of Nantes
- M.S. in Molecular Biology, University of Orleans
His work combines PAMAM dendrimers for BBB penetration, CRISPR-Cas9 gene silencing, and MSC/NSC transplantation to modulate neuroinflammation and promote neural repair. Recent articles highlight advancements in targeted gene therapy and anti-inflammatory nanocarriers.
Scientific awards include
- CMU President's Research Award
- SfN Travel Grants
- ASNTR Leadership Recognition
