Associate Professor Julien Pollack is an academic leader in project management at the University of Sydney's School of Project Management, where he also serves as Interim Head of the John Grill Institute of Projects. He holds a Ph.D. from UTS (2005), a B.Sc. from UNSW (2000), and a B.A. from 1997. His research focuses on adapting project management practices to complex, uncertain environments, leveraging systems thinking, complexity theory, and change management. He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, including works on agile methods, public-private partnerships, and threatened species recovery programs. Pollack teaches courses such as Strategic Delivery of Change and Project Planning and Governance. He has advised Ph.D. students on topics like PPP performance, complex project dialectics, and contracting innovations. His awards include the International Journal of Project Management's Excellence in Reviewing (2013) and the Global Conference on Research and Finance's Outstanding Research Award (2015). His work bridges theory and practice, aiming to transform project management into a more adaptable discipline.
