Julien BRAUX

Dr. Julien BRAUX serves as Associate Professor and Hospital Practitioner at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne's Faculty of Dentistry. He holds dual leadership roles as Head of the Department of Periodontology for both the Dental School (U.F.R. Odontologie) and Reims University Hospital (C.H.U. de Reims), and Deputy Director of the Dental School.

His research centers on periodontal disease mechanisms, biomaterial-tissue interactions, and bone pathophysiology with specific expertise in strontium-doped biomaterials, CFTR gene mutation effects on bone, and antimicrobial peptide expression in periodontitis. This interdisciplinary work bridges dental science, molecular biology, and clinical therapeutics to develop novel osteoregenerative approaches.

Analysis of his 2011-2016 publications reveals consistent focus on biomaterial-induced modulation of bone cell activity (particularly chemokine regulation by osteoblasts) and cystic fibrosis-related bone pathology. His work demonstrates strong integration of in vitro biomaterial testing, molecular pathogenesis studies, and clinical periodontal research across dentistry, orthopedics, and immunology domains.

Dr. BRAUX actively participates in the GDR MUFOPAM learned society and leads research within EA 4691 'BIOS' (Biomaterials and Inflammation in Bone Sites). His teaching portfolio includes Periodontology (L3-M1), Tissue Engineering, and the Master's program in Biology, Health, and Quality.
