Julie VanDusky is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Boise State University's School of Public Service. Her office is located in the Environmental Research Building (Room 2159), and she specializes in comparative politics and international relations.
Her research examines formal and informal institutions, political parties, legislative organization, political participation, and democratic support/satisfaction. She also investigates how US troop deployments affect host-state defense spending. Dr. VanDusky participates in collaborative research analyzing global government responses to COVID-19, particularly focusing on sub-national policy variations during crises.
Her publications demonstrate sustained focus on legislative behavior, democratic institutions, and policy responses to global challenges. Recent work analyzes partisan polarization in pandemic responses, multi-level governance impacts on democratic satisfaction, and spatial dimensions of military deployments. Article themes consistently intersect with institutional analysis, policy implementation, and comparative political behavior.
