Dr. Julie McMullin is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Western Ontario, part of the Faculty of Social Science. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on intersections of social inequality—including age, gender, class, and ethnicity—in domains like paid work and family dynamics. Notable works include studies on older workers, retirement income inequality, and workplace policies in small IT firms. She has authored/co-authored influential books such as Understanding Social Inequality (2017) and Age, Gender, and Work (2011).
