Julie Huntington is Chair of the Department of Writing, Literature, and Language at Marymount Manhattan College, where she serves as Associate Professor of English and World Literatures and Professor of Communication and Media Arts. Her academic work bridges literary scholarship, translation, and innovative pedagogy.

Her research focuses on 20th- and 21st-century Francophone literature and film from West Africa and the Caribbean, with particular attention to language, identity, voice, and representation. Her scholarship increasingly emphasizes literary translation to broaden access to Francophone voices.
