Julie Hunt is an Associate Professor of Social Work and Director of Field Education at Belmont University since 2016. She holds a BSW from Belmont University (1994) and an MSSW from the University of Tennessee (1997). Her research focuses on pedagogical innovation, interprofessional teaching, and student professional development. She has been a finalist for the Chaney Distinguished Professor Award and Presidential Faculty Achievement Award. Hunt is deeply engaged in curriculum development, field education supervision, and fostering student empathy and self-regulation skills.

Advising & Engagement: As Director of Field Education, Hunt oversees student field placements and provides clinical supervision to LMSWs pursuing LCSW licensure. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to enhance teaching methods and student readiness for clinical practice.
Labs & Teams: Active contributor to Belmont’s School of Social Work initiatives, including interprofessional education programs and community-based learning projects.
