Dr Julie Hayes is a Grant-Funded Researcher (A) at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. She is based at the Plant Genomics Centre on the Waite Campus and collaborates with the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI). Her research focuses on plant physiology, agricultural genetics, and pre-breeding strategies to enhance crop productivity. Dr. Hayes specializes in pulse protein research, including improving grain protein content in crops like oats and chickpea, and developing novel food ingredients from pulses.
