Dr. Julie Goldenson is a clinical and forensic psychologist with 20 years of experience, currently serving as a part-time Assistant Professor and incoming Chair of the Graduate Counselling and Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Toronto. She holds affiliations with Harvard Medical School's Program in Psychiatry and the Law and completed postdoctoral training at Simon Fraser University. Her leadership includes a term as President of the Ontario Psychological Association.
Her research focuses on:
- Psychological impacts of trauma, adverse childhood experiences, and interpersonal violence
- Resilience mechanisms in trauma survivors
- Best practices in forensic mental health assessment, including trauma-informed interviewing and diagnostic formulation
She received the 2021 Strasburger Award and contributes to academic journals as Forensic Section Editor for Psychological Injury and Law and editorial board member for the International Journal of Forensic Mental Health.
