Julie Ellis-Jones

Dr Julie Ellis-Jones is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences (HAS). She joined UWE in 2013 and contributes to BSc and MSc programs in research and practice, including the MSc Advanced Practice. Her clinical background spans urology, critical care, and urodynamics, with roles as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Senior Research Nurse at Southmead Hospital and the Bristol Urological Institute. She specializes in advanced clinical practice, research methodology, and education.

Her research focuses on urodynamics, lower urinary tract dysfunction, and the role of nurse researchers. Key qualifications include a DPhil in Medical Science, MSc Advanced Practice, and clinical certifications. She co-founded the International Continence Society’s urodynamic workshop and collaborates with the European Association of Urology Nurses (EAUN).

Dr Ellis-Jones has been recognized with the Florence Nightingale Foundation Lifelong Scholar Award (2008). Her publications emphasize clinical assessment, urodynamic techniques, and interdisciplinary educational initiatives.
