Julie Dickson is Professor of Legal Philosophy at the University of Oxford and Fellow of The Queen's College. Her research focuses on methodological questions in jurisprudence, EU legal theory, and the intersection of law with morality and politics.
Her work critically examines the nature of legal systems in transnational contexts, particularly the European Union, and develops frameworks for understanding law's normative foundations. Recent publications analyze the relationship between legal philosophy and political theory in supranational governance structures.
Recipient of the Alice Tay Book Prize for her methodological treatise 'Elucidating Law' and Oxford's Teaching Excellence Award. Serves on editorial boards of major legal philosophy journals including 'Legal Theory' and 'Law and Philosophy'.
