Julie Baldwin

Julie Baldwin is a Regents' Professor at Northern Arizona University, serving as the NARBHA Vice President for NAU Health and Executive Director of the Center for Health Equity Research (CHER). Her work focuses on health equity, particularly among Native American populations, dementia care, and substance use disorder interventions. She leads initiatives addressing rural health disparities, culturally centered practices, and community-based research.

Her research spans over 25 years, with a focus on Alzheimer's and related dementias, telemedicine during pandemics, and the integration of behavioral and primary care services. She has collaborated on projects such as the Intertribal Talking Circle for youth substance abuse prevention and the Great Beginnings for Healthy Native Smiles program targeting early childhood caries in Indigenous communities.
