Dr Julie Arnold is a Lecturer in Education at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), affiliated with the School of Education within the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice. She holds a PhD and Master of Philosophy (Education) from QUT. Her research focuses on English curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment, emphasizing student agency, teacher professional learning, and accessible assessment practices. Current projects include the ARC Linkage Accessible Assessment initiative and equity/diversity/inclusion efforts within her faculty.
Her professional roles include Vice President of the English Teachers Association of Queensland (ETAQ) and co-authorship of Cambridge’s Essential English for Queensland Schools. She is actively involved in instructional leadership and curriculum development. Julie previously served as a secondary school Head of English, bridging academic and classroom expertise.
Research contributions span assessment for learning, teacher linguistic knowledge, and multimodal writing practices. She collaborates with institutions like the Centre for Inclusive Education. Julie is currently supervising research students at Honours, Masters, and PhD levels.
