Terri Bourke

Professor Terri Bourke is a distinguished academic at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), serving as interim Head of School within the School of Education, part of the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice. Her roles include Undergraduate Research Pathways Coordinator and Academic Lead Research, with extensive experience in teacher education policy and curriculum design. She holds a PhD from QUT and degrees from the University of London.

Research Focus: Her work spans professionalism in Initial Teacher Education (ITE), geography education assessment, and teacher educators' epistemic reflexivities for diversity. She leads ARC-funded projects on teacher shortages, career change educators, and hard-to-staff schools. Key research areas include curriculum design, educational policy analysis, and STEM education.

Grants & Collaborations: Terri has secured an ARC Discovery Grant and led an ARC Linkage project on teacher shortages. She contributes to the Centre for Inclusive Education and serves as ATEA President. Her recent work explores inclusive STEM education in PNG and leadership strategies in regional Queensland.
