Dr. Julie Ann Stuart Williams is a Professor in the Department of Business Administration at the University of West Florida (UWF), affiliated with the Lewis Bear Jr. College of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on business education strategies, operational logistics, recycling planning, and healthcare patient attendance analysis. Notable contributions include studies on business writing practices and student use of university support services, published in the Journal of Education for Business.
Her research interests span interdisciplinary collaborations, including partnerships with UWF's Writing Lab and Career Services. She has co-authored works in prestigious journals such as European Journal of Operational Research and International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management. Dr. Williams has received multiple awards, including the 2017 University Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award and Dyson Awards for Excellence in Research.
She currently serves on the editorial board of INFORMS Transactions on Education and as 2nd Vice Chair of the INFORMS Committee on Teaching and Learning. As faculty advisor to the UWF Beta Gamma Sigma chapter, she led the chapter to Highest Honors recognition. Her mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students includes collaboration on peer-reviewed publications through the UWF Office of Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentor Program.
