Juliano Nietiedt

Juliano Nietiedt is a Research Fellow at the UWA Oceans Institute, specializing in anchoring systems for floating offshore wind energy. He holds a PhD in Offshore Geotechnical Engineering from UWA (2022), an M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2018), and a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2014). His research focuses on offshore geotechnical engineering, centrifuge modeling, and numerical analysis of pile foundations and anchoring systems.

His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable and clean energy (SDG 7) and climate action (SDG 13).

Recent publications highlight advancements in helical anchor performance, boulder damage during monopile installation, and centrifuge modeling techniques. He actively advises a PhD student and engages in consultancy work for geotechnical engineering projects.
