Juliann McBrayer

Juliann McBrayer serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Leadership, Technology & Human Development within the College of Education at Georgia Southern University, where she joined in 2015. Additionally, she holds the position of Co-Director of the National Youth Advocacy and Resilience Research Center, demonstrating her commitment to youth advocacy and educational leadership research.

Dr. McBrayer's educational background includes a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Ohio University (1999), an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) from Johnson & Wales University - Charleston (1996), and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from State University of New York College at Brockport (1995).

Her research interests center on educational leadership, teacher preparation programs, student self-efficacy, distributed leadership with emphasis on teacher leadership, and professional learning communities. Recent work has particularly focused on bullying in digital environments, adverse childhood experiences and resilience, and virtual professional development for school leaders. Dr. McBrayer is actively involved in research funding and project leadership, currently serving as Principal Investigator for three major projects: GAME: Developing and piloting a game design based computer science curriculum (NSF-funded), Boys and Girls Club STEM Learning Community and Planning Grant, and Governor's Office of Student Achievement Innovation Fund Grant.

She is accepting PhD/graduate students and offers graduate projects related to community and school safety, continuing her commitment to preparing scholarly practitioners through evidence-based educational leadership programs from the master's through doctoral levels.
