Juliane Witte is a researcher in Scandinavian Studies at the Department of Modern Languages, Faculty of Humanities, University of Tübingen. She holds an RMA in Ancient, Medieval & Renaissance Studies from Utrecht University, an MLitt in Mediaeval English from St. Andrews, and a First Class BA in English Language and Literature from Nottingham.

Her research focuses on female anger representation in medieval literature, particularly in Icelandic and Norwegian texts like Das Nibelungenlied, Atlakviða, and Beowulf. She employs interdisciplinary frameworks including Sif Rikhardsdottir's emotional scripts and Aaron Sell's recalibrational theory to analyze how female rage challenges social norms.
Publications and conference presentations include analyses of Guðrún's defiance in Atlakviða, socioeconomic readings of Old English Deor, and explorations of toxic masculinity in Maria Dahvana Headley's Beowulf. She has presented at the Society for the Study of Medieval Emotions (St. Andrews), IMC Leeds, and the Leiden Society for Old English and Medieval Humanities.
