معرفی
Dr. Juliane Günther is a Research Fellow and Junior Group Leader at the Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN), where she heads the Glycoimmunology working group in the Genome Physiology Unit. She holds a teaching position in 'Diversity and Evolution' at the University of Rostock's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences since 2011. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of immune responses in farm animals, particularly bovine immunology and glycobiology.
Education includes a Ph.D. (2005) and Diploma in Biology (2001) from Friedrich Schiller University Jena, with doctoral research conducted at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology.
Her research integrates Molecular Biology, Infection Immunology, and Glycobiology, with emphasis on:
- Host-pathogen interactions in mammary epithelium
- Tryptophan metabolism in immunomodulation
- Polysialic acid functions in cellular differentiation
- Transcriptomic regulation in bovine immunity
No scientific awards are mentioned in the source material.
She leads the Glycoimmunology research group at FBN, investigating glycan-mediated immune regulation. No student advisees or grant details are specified.
