Juliana Chang is a Professor in the Department of English at Santa Clara University's College of Arts and Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and previously taught at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and Boston College.
Her research focuses on Asian American literary traditions, critical race theory applications in literature, poetic forms and structures, and psychoanalytic approaches to textual analysis. She investigates representations of identity, power dynamics in colonial contexts, and the intersection of cultural memory with creative expression.
Dr. Chang's publications examine racial melancholia, neocolonial femininity, and the development of Asian American poetic traditions. Her editorial work includes the anthology Quiet Fire: A Historical Anthology of Asian American Poetry, which documents underrepresented voices in American literature.
