Julian Weiss is Emeritus Professor of Medieval & Early Modern Spanish at King's College London. His research examines literary theory, cultural translation, and Sephardic intellectual traditions in Iberia. Current work focuses on early modern Hispanic receptions of Flavius Josephus' writings and their role in Christian-Jewish identity formation during the Spanish Empire.
Professor Weiss has published extensively on poetic theory in Castile, including the monograph 'The Poet’s Art: Literary Theory in Castile, c. 1400-60'. He co-edited 'Reading and Censorship in Early Modern Europe' and serves on the international research group Seminario de Estudios sobre el Renacimiento at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
