Julian Steckel

Julian Steckel is a Professor of Cello at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where he has taught since 2017. Prior to this, he served as a professor at the HMT Rostock from 2011. A renowned cellist, Steckel performs with prestigious orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, collaborating with conductors like Christoph Eschenbach and Jakub Hrusa.

His career spans solo performances and festival engagements at venues including Heimbach, Lucerne, and Prussia Cove. Steckel studied under esteemed mentors like Boris Pergamenschikow and Heinrich Schiff, and his collaborations with artists such as Lars Vogt and Christian Tetzlaff highlight his contributions to chamber music.
