University of Duisburg-Essenمعرفی
Dr. Julian Quast is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the Faculty of Mathematics, working in the research group of Prof. Dr. Vytautas Paškūnas. His position is funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) under project number 517234220.
Dr. Quast's research focuses on advanced topics in number theory and algebraic geometry, particularly:
- Deformation theory of mod p Galois representations of number fields with values in reductive groups
- G-pseudocharacters and determinant laws for symplectic groups
- The trianguline variety for reductive groups
- Zariski density of crystalline points in the generic fiber of deformation rings
His recent work shows a strong focus on Galois deformation rings for various algebraic structures including tori and reductive groups, with significant contributions to the understanding of pseudocharacters and their applications in number theory. He has published multiple preprints and articles in high-impact journals including Forum of Mathematics, Sigma.
Dr. Quast has been actively presenting his research at various institutions including the University of Heidelberg, University of Münster, University of Wuppertal, University of Luxembourg, and the University of Amsterdam. He has also participated in conferences on p-adic methods in number theory in Mumbai.
As part of his academic duties, Dr. Quast has provided teaching assistance for courses including Étale Cohomology, Algebraic Geometry I and II, Algebra II, Affine algebraic groups, Bilinear forms and classical groups, and Complex Analysis II.
