Julian Lim is the Arthur Eisenberg and Susan Engel Associate Professor of History at Johns Hopkins University. His research examines immigration, borders, race, and law through transnational methodologies, focusing on connections between Asian, Latinx, African American, and Indigenous communities. He holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University.
Lim's book Porous Borders received multiple awards including the Weber-Clements Prize and AAAS Outstanding Achievement Award. Current research explores U.S. territorial expansion and exclusionary policies (1870s-1930s).
