Dr. Julian Lamont is a Lecturer in the Discipline of Philosophy at the School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry, The University of Queensland. He serves as the Discipline Honours Coordinator and teaches courses including Introduction to Social, Political and Legal Philosophy, Crime and Punishment, and Business Ethics.
Research Interests span Political Philosophy, Economics, Applied Ethics, Bioethics, and Metaphysics, with a focus on distributive justice, economic ethics, and social contract theory. His publications analyze CEO compensation, education funding, and resource management.
Selected Articles (2018–2012) examine topics like effort-based distribution, economic rent theory, and ethical frameworks for genomic data governance. His work appears in journals such as Journal of Applied Philosophy and Australian Journal of Professional and Applied Ethics.
