Julian Klemm is a Researcher and Ph.D. student at the University of Hamburg's Computational Systems Biology department within the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences. Since April 2023, he has focused on developing privacy-preserving federated data warehouses to facilitate secure collaborative research. His work bridges bioinformatics and computer science, emphasizing ethical data sharing. He contributes to the FeatureCloud and Microb-AI-Ome projects, advancing federated learning methodologies.

Research interests center on federated learning architectures, differential privacy, and scalable data-sharing frameworks. His master’s thesis pioneered privacy-enhancing techniques in federated learning, and his doctoral research addresses real-world implementation challenges in collaborative environments.
