Dr. Julian Chen is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Curtin University, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and the Office of the Provost. Their work focuses on applied linguistics, inclusive education, and innovative pedagogical approaches leveraging technology such as virtual reality, game-based learning, and queer curriculum design. Chen coordinates the Asian Languages Course and teaches in graduate programs like the Master of TESOL and Applied Linguistics. Key achievements include winning multiple teaching awards (e.g., 2023 Curtin Excellence and Innovation in Teaching Awards) and editing influential volumes like Emergency Remote Teaching and Beyond.
