Julian Bukalski is a Lecturer at Hawaii Pacific University's College of Liberal Arts, Department of English and Applied Linguistics. He teaches first-year writing and Ho‘okō Rising Scholars Program courses. Previously, he taught literature, creative writing, and French at other universities.

Bukalski founded an organization producing 50 books and 7 documentaries on comic books/popular culture, including the first book on Christopher Nolan's Batman films. He also writes comic books, prose literature, and co-hosts sci-fi movie/TV podcasts.
