Julia Whisenhunt is Professor of Counselor Education and Assistant Department Chair at the University of West Georgia's College of Education. Directs the Ed.D. program in Professional Counseling and Supervision, with clinical expertise in suicide prevention, self-injury intervention, and crisis response protocols.
Research develops evidence-based strategies for treating self-injurious behaviors, training educators in suicide prevention, and enhancing counselor competencies. Authored the 'Crisis Intervention Ethics Casebook' and multiple studies on adolescent mental health interventions.
